Police Seize Fully Loaded Semi-automatic Handgun

On October 27, 2016, at around 3 p.m., a United States citizen, who was travelling through Cambridge for work, was observed to be in possession of a concealed weapon and ammunition in the engine bay of his vehicle. The 53-year-old man was on his way back to the U.S. and stopped at a restaurant when he was arrested by Waterloo Regional Police. Officers seized a fully loaded semi-automatic handgun and 4 loaded magazines. The man is being held in custody pending a show cause hearing. He is facing 10 firearm related charges including Importing a Restricted Firearm, Importing Prohibited Ammunition, Careless Transport of a Firearm and Possession of a Restricted Firearm knowing it is unauthorized.
