Police Seeking Witnesses To Fatal Motorcycle Collision

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal motorcycle collision in the Town of Georgina.

On Wednesday, June 15, 2016, shortly after 5 p.m., York Regional Police were called to Lake Drive North near Orchard Beach Road for a report of a motorcycle that had left the roadway with the rider suffering from life-threatening injuries. The rider, a 24-year-old man from the Town of Georgina was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

While the investigation is still in its early stages, officers believe that the rider may have lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to leave the roadway. Investigators are seeking any witnesses that have not yet spoken to police, that may have seen the motorcycle prior to the collision.
