Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking witnesses to assist with identifying a suspect following a home invasion in the City of Markham.
On Monday, August 22, 2016, at approximately 10:40 a.m. a 39-year-old female victim and her three children were at their residence on Geddington Cres when a male suspect rang the doorbell. When the victim answered the door the suspect forced his way into the home and ripped the victim’s necklace from her neck. The suspect fled in a dark-coloured vehicle parked nearby.
The victim was not physically injured during this incident.
SUSPECT:
Male, black
Approximately 5’10 with a thin build
Black hair in braids or corn rows tied at the back
Wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans
SUSPECT VEHICLE:
Dark-coloured car
The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses or anyone that has video surveillance in the area are encouraged to call police.
