(LAKE HURON, ON) – On August 20, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a missing swimmer in Lake Huron off the shores of a private cottage area of the Saugeen First Nation. Twenty-three-year old Garrett LEWIS of Aurora was last seen in a rocky area of the water. He’s described as 6’ 1”, thin build with short light blond hair wearing sand colored shorts.
Members of the Bruce Peninsula OPP, Bruce Peninsula OPP Marine Unit, South Bruce OPP Marine Unit and members of the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) are actively looking for him.
An OPP Aviation Services helicopter and the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) are enroute to assist the Bruce Peninsula OPP with this search.
