Police Pursuit Ends With Home Invasion And Arrest Of Repeat Offender In Kitchener

On June 2, 2016, Waterloo Regional Police arrested a 23 year old male who was wanted on outstanding warrants for various property related offences. During the course of the arrest, the male fled from police on a bicycle in the area of Victoria Street and Weber Street. At the intersection of Water Street and Weber Street the male rode his bicycle into oncoming traffic and hit two oncoming vehicles causing extensive damage. The male left his bicycle at the scene of the collision and continued to flee from police. While fleeing on foot the male stole another bicycle in an attempt to evade police. The male was subsequently arrested on Bruder Avenue in Kitchener after he forced his way into a home to hide from police. The homeowners exited the residence and notified officers in the area. Upon arrest the male was found in possession of a small amount of drugs. In addition to the outstanding warrants the male was also charged with Fail to Remain, Forcible Entry, Theft under $5000, Possession under $5000 x 2, Possession of a Controlled Substance x 2 and Breach of Probation. The male was held for a bail hearing.
