On Saturday, June 6, 2015, at 6:24 p.m., police responded to a call for a police officer struck, Fail-to-Remain personal injury collision, at Parkside Drive, near Spring Road.
It is reported that:
– a police officer was monitoring the speed of motor vehicles on southbound Parkside Drive, near Spring Road
– the officer observed two motorcycles southbound on Parkside Drive which appeared to be speeding
– the officer attempted to stop the motorcycles
– as they approached the officer, one of the motorcycles accelerated, striking the officer
– the officer was knocked to the ground
– both motorcycles failed to remain at the scene of the collision
The officer received non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are asking for public assistance locating the suspect motorcycle. The motorcycle is described as a black 2007 Honda CBR 600RR with possible red markings. The rider was wearing a dull-black full-face helmet and was also wearing dark-leather clothing. This motorcycle would have damage to its left side and it would be missing the left-side rear-view mirror.
