Waterloo Region, Ontario – As a result of the on-going investigation into the death of Erin Howlett, 28 years, homicide investigators are now able to confirm their suspicions that the victim died as a result of foul play.
Evidence collected at the scene, tips from the community and information generated throughout the investigation led detectives to explore a variety of possible scenarios as to how the victim may have died.
However, investigators are now confident in their assertion that Erin Howlett’s death was the result of a criminal act.
The investigation into the death of Erin Howlett was launched after her body was discovered in the Grand River, near Riverbend Drive in Kitchener on July 5, 2013.
Investigators have reviewed the results of the post mortem as well as additional forensic analysis, however are not releasing any details at this time to ensure the integrity of the continuing investigation.
The circumstances surrounding the death of Erin Howlett remain the primary focus of the investigation and detectives are renewing their appeal for help from the community.
