Police Looking For Hit and Run Driver – Last Seen Heading Into Corn Field

(SOUTH HURON, ON) Huron County and Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers along with OPP West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) officers and an OPP Canine Unit are actively searching for a male driver that fled from police early this morning. Shortly after 7:00 a.m. Perth County OPP officers attempted to stop a speeding grey Kia that was travelling westbound on MacDonald Road. Officers followed the vehicle a short distance however police terminated the chase.

At 7:15 a.m. the suspect vehicle collided with a Pontiac Grand-Am at the intersection of MacDonald Road and London Road. The driver of the Kia fled the scene on foot into a nearby cornfield. The driver of the Pontiac, a 21 year old male from Central Huron was transported to South Huron Hospital in Exeter with minor injuries.

Police are actively searching for the suspect north of Exeter near MacDonald Road and London Road. He is described as a white male, in his late 20’s, about 6′ tall with a heavier build.
