Police Investigating a Series of Mischief’s Overnight

On July 29, 2013, at approximately 1:30 am, an Owen Sound Police Service officer on foot patrol discovered three separate buildings in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue East where paint was intentionally sprayed across the front windows of the (3) businesses. Shortly after 2:00 am, Police arrived on scene at the rear of a business situated in the 100 block 9th Street East regarding an intentional fire that had been started in a large blue box recycling bin. The fire was extinguished immediately but not before melting the entire plastic container. There was no other apparent damage to the building in nearest proximity to the fire. Also, just after 3:00 am City Police are investigating an incident in the 400 block 15th St E regarding fresh graffiti that had been scrawled on a billboard along the south side of the roadway. The paint appears similar to the paint used in the previous mischief call discovered in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue East. The investigation is ongoing.
