The Chatham-Kent police are currently on scene of a fatal train collision.
At approximately 10:00 a.m. this morning, emergency crews responded to a collision on Sass Side Road. A man was struck and killed by a Via Rail train travelling eastbound.
Police are attempting to identify the man and notify his next of kin.
No one on the train was physically injured.
Sass Side Road will be closed for several hours as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
