Hamilton Police officers responded after receiving reports of a disturbance at a car wash located at 680 King Street East.
On Thursday November 3, 2016, just shortly after 6:00pm, a woman was seen causing a disturbance after it was indicated that she was using the car wash facility to bathe her dog. The incident was of concern for citizens in which they intervened.
The woman explained the situation to the officer, indicating that she was washing her dog just shortly after it had become dirty from rolling in the mud. The woman did not believe she was harming her dog as she used a low water flow setting to rinse off the mud.
It was initially believed that the woman was hurting the dog. After investigating, it was confirmed that the dog was not injured and the dog was reacting to the cold water as it always did when bathing. The woman was given advice regarding the choice and perception while using a car wash facility to bathe her dog. The woman was cooperative and took the advice into consideration.
Separate to this incident police are investigating the validity of the comments and video that was posted on social media.
