On the evening of Monday, May 9 th , 2016 police services responded to a report of a possibly impaired motorist.
The complainant instructed Owen Sound Police Service’s Emergency Communications Centre that she had just spoken on the telephone to a friend who had called her from an east side parking lot.
The caller suspected her friend – the driver of the automobile – may have been intoxicated. When police located the vehicle it was parked, however, the driver was observed enjoying an alcoholic beverage with her seatbelt on and the keys in the ignition.
The 53 year old motorist, of no fixed abode, has been arrested for impaired care and control of a motor vehicle, and having an excess blood alcohol limit while having the care and control of a motor vehicle. Samples of her breath were in excess of 4 times the legal limit. The accused is required to attend court this morning for a remand hearing.
