Police Foot Chase – K-9 Unit

(Goderich, ON) At approximately 1:30 pm on October 27, 2009, members of the Huron OPP received information from an off duty officer that a wanted male party was in the Wal Mart in Goderich. Officers attended the location and the 31 year old Goderich man fled the store. He led officers on a long track that involved K-9 and Emergency Response Team officers as well as officers working the area. Despite the difficulties faced when a track leads into an urban area, officers were able to keep the pressure on the man as he fled through the streets of Goderich until he had nowhere to go and was arrested without incident. Many thanks go to the residents in the area who assisted by providing more sets of eyes for the officers!

The man is facing one count of Breach Probation and due to the circumstances of the event yesterday, he was held in police custody pending a bail hearing.
