Police Disarm Road Rager In Kitchener – Firearms Seized

On September 28th, 2015 at 7:40 pm., a 45 year old Kitchener man driving a white pickup truck was upset after being cut off by another driver in the area of Highland Road West and Westmount Road West in the City of Kitchener. The male allegedly followed the other driver on Westmount Road West to Victoria Street South. When both drivers stopped for a red light at Victoria Street South, the male exited his truck, pulled out a 3 foot long pipe. The man approached the other driver with the pipe pulled back in a baseball batting stance and about to swing it forward when Waterloo Regional Police officers interrupted the incident. The man was ordered to drop the weapon and eventually complied. He was arrested without further incident. Police located several other weapons in the man’s vehicle, which included firearms, a bat and compound bow. The Kitchener man has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carry a concealed weapon x2, possession of a prohibited weapon and interfere with traffic. The man was held for a show cause hearing and the weapons were seized. No one was injured in this incident.
