(CENTRAL HURON) On January 22, 2013 at approximately 1:30 a.m. Huron OPP officers observed two vehicles travelling erratically eastbound on Huron Road in Goderich. Officers followed the eastbound Ford Focus and Buick and were able to stop both drivers on Huron Road east of Orchard Line.
Upon speaking with both drivers officers noted they each had been drinking alcohol.
The driver of the Ford Focus, Matthew VEENSTRA, 24, from Stratford has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for March 18, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice Goderich.
The driver of the Buick, Matthew SCHEPENS, 25, from Chatham has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for March 18, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice Goderich.
Both vehicles were impounded for seven days and both drivers received automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspensions.
