(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – Early Saturday morning, March 19, 2016, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a rural residence along Hwy 8 between Stratford and Shakespeare, where the theft of a pickup truck was discovered.
Investigation revealed that sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Friday March 18th and 6 a.m. on Saturday March 19th, unknown suspect(s) entered onto the property and broke into the garage/workshop.
From inside the garage a number of tools were removed including a DeWalt 20 volt Max string trimmer. Computer equipment and a wallet were also taken. The unknown suspect(s) then opened the garage door and drove away with the black 2015 GMC Sierra pickup truck that had been parked inside the garage. The pickup truck had the keys left inside.
On Sunday evening, March 20, 2016, the stolen Sierra pickup truck was found abandoned at St. Anne School on Elgin Street North in Cambridge.
It appears that the suspect(s) may have been dropped off at the residence by another vehicle.
