(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Thursday December 01, 2011, Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a collision at the intersection of Perth Line 37 andRoad 111 (north east of Stratford).
Investigation revealed that a Honda Pilot operated by a 46 year old Township of Perth East male was south bound on Road 111 when it came into contact with the bicyclist. The bicyclist, a 59 year old Stratford male had been travelling east bound on Perth Line 37. The bicyclist ended up on the pavement and sustained minor injuries for which he was treated at the Stratford General Hospital. The driver of the Honda Pilot has been charged with “fail to turn out to left to avoid collision with bicycleâ€.
The Perth County OPP wants to urge the motoring public to watch out for bicycles on roadways at any time of day and any time of the year. Even in Perth County more and more cyclists are choosing to ride their bikes during the winter season.
