Photo Proof Town Staff Neglect Community Trail, Risking Public Safety and Health

Most of the garbage cans in town have been removed for the winter,
freeing up the two town workers it normally takes to empty them, and
drive the garbage to the dump.  You would think freeing up that
man-power would allow the director of public works to direct them to
clear the community trail.  The trail is supposed to connect
our community, and help make our community safer and
healthier.  Despite the need for the trail, it is closed again
this winter.  The sidewalk guy has been seen going from the
work shed on Josephine, all the way to Carling Terrace without
touching a single sidewalk.  If he went down the trail, it
would have cost the taxpayers virtually nothing extra, and part of
the community trail would be open to the public.

At the last council meeting, Pat Newson praised the benefits of the
community trail, and said students walk to school via the trail so
they can avoid the roads and such”.  The “and
such” is assumed to be the blocked sidewalks which force them
to walk on the roads in the first place.  You would think the
Director of Recreation would have spoken out by now
