The Toronto Police Service is seeking assistance locating a man wanted in an investigation into multiple counts of Fraud.
It is alleged that:
– the man rented a condo in Toronto, then posted an online advertisement offering a room within his unit for rent
– multiple prospective tenants responded to the advertisement and transferred money to the man on the assumption that the room was their’s to rent
– once the deposit was received, the man would stop communicating with the prospective tenants
– in a few instances, a partial reimbursement was sent back to the renters” upon their demand
