Barrie Police were called by a complainant for a theft of her cellular phone by her ex-boyfriend.
Barrie Police attended a Dunlop St apartment and spoke with the suspect and his girlfriend.
Both admitted to possession of the cell phone and claimed a misunderstanding”.
The cellular phone was returned to the complainant who declined any further Police involvement.
However a check on the two suspects revealed both had outstanding warrants for their arrest stemming from a similar occurrence in York Region.
Both were arrested on the strength of the warrants and taken to the Barrie Police Service and held for York Regional Police.
