Peter VanArkel Daytime Robbery – Caught On Bicycle

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Saturday July 28, 2012, Perth County OPP officers were dispatched a residence along Hwy. 23 north of Monkton where a male was observed stealing fresh corn and change from a roadside vegetable stand.

Officers located a male matching the description of the suspect, riding a bicycle away from the theft location. The male was found in possession of a large number of corn cobs and a pocket full of change.

Peter VanArkel (45) of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with two counts of “theft under $5000”, two counts of “possession of stolen property under $5000”, “fail to comply with an undertaking or recognizance”, and with “breach of probation order”. He was held in custody and is to appear in Stratford court on Monday July 30, 2012.
