(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) On Sunday September 29, 2013 at approximately 12:25am, officers from the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. Program on Highway 6 just north of College Avenue on the southbound lanes in the City of Guelph. Officers investigated the driver of a 2008 GMC pickup truck and upon speaking with the driver; police discovered that he had been drinking alcohol.
Peter SCHOON age 20 of Haldimand County has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on October 18, 2013 to answer to the charges.
His driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle has been impounded for a period of 7 days.
