Pervert Alert – Man Offering Money To Children To Get In Vehicle

Halton Police are asking residents to help identify a person approaching children in the Glen Abbey and West Oak Trails neighbourhoods in Oakville.

On 02AUG2016, at Third Line and West Ham Road, between 4-5:00 pm, two 13 year olds were approached by a man and offered money to get in his car. On 09AUG2016, at approximately 5:15 pm, near Leewood Park, two children under the age of 10 were asked to get into this man’s car. In each instance, the children left and were not pursued or followed.

The person is described as a male, black, mid 20’s, approximately 6’ (183 cm) with a thin build, short black hair (cornrows or shot dreadlocks), and a wide nose. He has been seen wearing a grey and baggy white t-shirt, grey pants, and on one occasion, wore sunglasses.

His vehicle is described as a black, four door sedan with chrome door handles.

Police are asking parents to speak with their children about some of the Safety Tips available from our site, including telling parents where and with whom children are playing, traveling with a friend, avoiding unlit or empty streets, and not giving out personal information, including names and address. If anyone feels like they are being followed, please call police immediately on 911.
