In December 2014 the London Police Service received information from the Swiss Cybercrime Coordination Unit that an individual residing in London was making child pornography available on the Internet.
On January 8, 2015 members of the Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) executed a warrant at a Ridout Street South address. As a result of the investigation, 54-year-old Harold Gilbert was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
Two counts of possession of child pornography, contrary to section 163.1(4)
Two counts of make available child pornography, contrary to section 163.1(3)
Access child pornography, contrary to section 163.1(4.1)
