On July 16, 2014, the Guelph Police commenced an investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography on the internet. As a result of this investigation, on July 24, 2014 members of the Guelph Police Technological Crimes-Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at a home in the City of Guelph.
As a result of the online investigation and subsequent warrant a 27-year-old Guelph male was arrested and charged with the following offences:
– Possession of Child Pornography
– Make Child Pornography Available For Distribution
– Accessing Child Pornography
He has been held in custody and will appear at Guelph Provincial Court on Friday, July 25, 2014 for a Bail Hearing. At this time the investigation is ongoing.
