(Perth County, ON) This storm, which is only increasing in severity for Perth County as it makes its way southeast, is keeping Perth OPP officers busy responding to collisions and other problems related to motorists in distress.
Over the course of the weekend, officers responded to 16 collisions but luckily none resulted in any serious injuries. There were also numerous calls of vehicles needing to be towed, traffic hazards and requests for police assistance.
As the storm continues, we again urge people to be mindful of the weather and to refrain from venturing out unless it is an emergency. Most things can be re-booked for another day and your safety is worth much more than making it to an appointment. Resources are being pushed hard to stay ahead of the problems caused by the snow, so we ask that you not add to those issues.
