(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – Perth County OPP officers responded to nine motor vehicle collisions between Friday, March 1, 2013 and Sunday, March 3, 2013. Two of the collisions resulted in minor injuries to two of the involved drivers.
On Friday, March 1, 2013 just before 5:00 p.m. Perth County OPP officers responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Line 34 and Road 107 in Perth East. The investigation revealed the driver of a Mazda sports utility vehicle was stopped at the intersection attempting to make a left hand turn when a Ford Ranger pickup truck collided with the rear of the Mazda. The driver of the Mazda, a 76 year old male from Stratford sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Ford Ranger, a 17 year old male from Stratford has been charged with Careless Driving.
Also on March 1, 2013 at approximately 5:30 p.m. Perth County OPP officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Line 20 near Perth Road 161 in West Perth. Investigation revealed a grey Volkswagen had been travelling west bound on Line 20 when it left the roadway, rolled over and came to rest in the south ditch.
Gloria REAST, 40, from Kitchener sustained minor injuries from the collision. She was treated and released from St. Mary’s General Hospital. As a result of the collision she was charged with Careless Driving.
Perth County OPP encourages motorists to respond to adverse and rapidly changing road conditions by reducing speed and leaving extra space to adjust for reduced braking ability on slippery ice and snow covered roadways.
