Perth County OPP Respond To 20 Storm Related Calls

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) – Between 9 p.m. on Sunday August 2nd, and the early morning hours of Monday August 3rd 2015, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to twenty weather related incidents.

Strong wind and rains passing through Perth County resulted in a number of power lines and tree limbs coming down and landing on roads. The calls officers responded to were from all over the County.

Two weather related collisions were reported to police. One motorist entered a ditch during a time of heavy rains and poor visibility in Shakespeare shortly before 11 p.m. on Sunday. A second crash involved a vehicle that struck a large tree which had fallen across Line 42 east of Wartburg shortly after 9 p.m. on Sunday. A few other motorists drove over branches but no damage was incurred. No storm related injuries were reported to police.
