On January 5, 2017, at 3:15 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to a report of a pedestrian hit in the roundabout at the intersection of Sheldon Drive and Franklin Boulevard in Cambridge. A 26-year-old pedestrian was crossing in the crosswalk on Sheldon Drive when he was hit by a Pontiac G6, which was exiting the roundabout from Franklin Boulevard. Several witnesses stayed and provided the man with first aid before he was transported to Cambridge Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A portion of Sheldon Drive was closed while police investigated. As a result, the 51-year-old male driver has been charged with fail to yield to traffic.
