Pedestrian Struck Fail to Remain

At approximately 2:41am, on Monday morning a 19 year old Barrie woman was walking in the area of Penetang St. between the intersections of Berczy St and Dundonald St. At this time she was struck by a motor vehicle that then fled the scene. Emergency services attended the scene to tend to the severely injured women who was later taken to for hospital treatment. After a short investigation the Barrie Police Service located the suspect vehicle and driver. A 20 year old male is presently in police custody. At the time of this press release the investigation is ongoing.

Penetang St. between the intersections of Berczy St and Dundonald St. will remain closed until further notice while officers continue the investigation.
