Pedestrian Fatally Struck – Despite What North Huron Thinks, Pedestrian Safety Is Important

On Monday, January 25, 2016, emergency services were called to Wellington Road north of Bradley Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m. in relation to a collision involving a pedestrian.

A vehicle was travelling southbound on Wellington Road and struck a pedestrian that was attempting to cross at an uncontrolled portion of the roadway. The pedestrian, a 71-year-old woman from London, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Traffic Management Unit.

The name of the pedestrian is not being released at this time pending family and next of kin notification.
