On Monday, July 18, 2016, at approximately 10:30 p.m., emergency services were sent to Clarke Road and Whitney Street in relation to a collision involving a pedestrian.
An LTC bus was travelling southbound on Clarke Road, when the driver made a left turn into the parking lot of Argyle Mall. The LTC bus struck a pedestrian at this location.
The pedestrian, a 56-year-old female, was transported to hospital with serious injuries. Yesterday evening, the female died as a result of the injuries sustained.
UPDATE:
The investigation into the circumstances of the fatal collision on July 18, 2016 at the intersection of Clarke Road at Whitney Street continues. The pedestrian that was struck by the LTC bus has been identified as 56-year-old Deborah McGrath of Hamilton.
The operator of the bus, a 36-year-old London man, has been charged with careless driving contrary to section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
