Pedestrian Charged

(ST.MARYS, ON) On Wednesday March 05, 2014 shortly before 9:30 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to the intersection of Queen St. East and Church St. South in St.Marys in response to a collision between a minivan and a pedestrian.

Investigation revealed that the Ford minivan was southbound on Church St North, when it turned eastbound on Queen St East. A pedestrian walked out in front of the minivan from the south side of Queen St East and was struck.

The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with minimal injuries. The pedestrian, a 57 year old female resident of St.Marys has been charged with “pedestrian fail to use cross-walk”.
