Paul Verkley – Drunk Driving

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Wednesday July 25, 2012, shortly before 11 p.m. Perth County OPP officers were called to a single motor vehicle crash along Road 140 south east of Listowel.

Upon police arrival a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was observed lying on its roof in the west ditch. The lone male driver inside the vehicle displayed signs of alcohol consumption. The male required medical attention and was transported to Listowel Memorial Hospital with non life threatening injuries. At the hospital, police administered two Intoxilyzer breath tests which the male driver failed.

Paul Verkley (60) of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with “impaired operation of a motor vehicle”, and “operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of blood”. He is scheduled to appear in Listowel Court on September 05, 2012, to answer to these charges. His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the pickup truck was towed from the scene to be impounded for 7 days.
