(BLUEWATER, ON) – A Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) check located in Bayfield at Main Street North and The Square has resulted in a 59 year old male being arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Just before 11:00 p.m. on August 1, 2013 the driver of a grey BMW entered the R.I.D.E checkpoint. Upon speaking with the driver officers detected the strong odour of marihuana coming from inside the vehicle. Officers questioned the driver about the odour and he proceeded to hand over a quantity of suspected marihuana. The driver was arrested and a search was conducted of the vehicle.
Paul DOZOIS (59) from West Vancouver has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on September 9, 2013 to answer to the charge.
