DRIVER CHARGED FOR RISKING STUDENT SAFETY
(BRANT TWP, ON) On March 22, 2013 at 8:26 am, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report that a driver had gone past a school bus that had the stop arm extended and red lights flashing. The driver, 26 year old Patrick MAIN of Huron-Kinloss Township, has been charged with Fail to stop for school bus. The penalty for this offence is a fine of $485 and 6 demerit points.
No children were injured at this scene. However, when a school bus is stopped with red lights flashing and the stop arm extended, students can be expected on the roadway. Make sure you always stop for the school bus; the students are counting on you to keep them safe.
