On December 7th 2014 at approximately 7:30am, residents of a south end apartment complex awoke to finding a male sleeping on the floor of the entrance doors to the building. Residents were uncertain if the male was in distress and contacted 911.
Police arrived on scene and observed the male sleeping. The male had a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and was awoken by police being present. Police were able to confirm the males identity and that he had no business being at the complex. It was also determined that the male lived a few kilometers from where he was sleeping but refused to cooperate in how he had gotten there.
During their investigation, police revealed that the male was currently on charges for a domestic related offence from September 2014 and was on a condition not to be consuming alcohol. The 30 year old Barrie male was arrested and charged with Failing to comply his recognizance. He will be held pending a bail hearing.
