Parking And Garbage Tax Have North Huronians Ready To Revolt, Finally!

There is now a $10 minimum at the North Huron landfill. If you take out one tagged bag, you will still be charged $10. If you take out 20 bags of garbage with tags, you will still have to pay at least $10. So, who’s brilliant plan was this? You guessed it, ineffectual Trevor Seip. It seems the only way council acts quickly is if they can rip more money out of your pockets. Town workers will now have to spend time cleaning our ditches as more garbage is going to end up there as some people refuse to pay up to $10/bag to drop it off at the landfill.

It’s been over a year since the election and you are probably wondering what North Huron councilors did to earn their $1,000/month. Note: There are only 2 council meetings a month which last an hour or two.

Trevor Seip has been aware of parking issues in Wingham since before he was elected, and has apparently done nothing to address the issue. Wingham police have a history of refusing to address parking complaints. They have even refused to do anything about the illegal parking near FE Madill, stating it only happens for a short time a day and during school events so don’t worry about it. Those “No Parking” signs are apparently only a suggestion, much like stop signs to police. We have witnessed a town worker drive the wrong way down our one way street then park in near the cenotaph. With 7 cops per square mile you would think there would be some enforcement.

Trevor has had over a year to address the parking problem in Wingham and has made zero progress, he must still be thinking about it. He is even on the Police Board and still can’t get things done! Trevor is starting to make chicken-nipple bailey look like a go-getting genius. Store owners and staff will continue to park on Josephine street. We don’t know if this is the Wingham BIAs attempt to make our town look busier than it is. Remember they put displays in vacant store windows so the people don’t realize they are driving through a ghost town whey they speed through on the way to affordable shopping in Listowel. Council will continue to buy properties to demolish and never turn into a parking lot like they told the Public. There will never be a solution, because they don’t have to solve the problem, they get paid regardless.
