The Owen Sound Police Service has arrested and charged a 24 year old man from Minden, Ontario, with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80mgs of Alcohol.
At approximately 5:15 a.m. on Sunday June 11 th , 2017, an Owen Sound Police Officer observed the vehicle at the intersection of 16 th Street East and 6 th Avenue East, stopped where there was no stop sign or signal to do so. The Officer conducted a traffic stop to investigate and requested the driver provide a sample of his breath into an approved roadside screening device. After registering a “Fail”, the man was taken into custody and transported to the Owen Sound Police Station where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified breath technician. The man’s breath samples exceeded the legal limit.
The vehicle involved was impounded by Police and the accused was later released from custody pending a scheduled court appearance in Owen Sound later this month.
