Shortly before 4:00 am an Owen Sound Police officer conducting foot patrol observed a parked vehicle in the 300 block of 8th Street East. The vehicle had a male sleeping in the driver’s seat. The officer approached to find the vehicle with its lights on, the driver’s side window down and the man’s head resting part way out the window.
The key was in the ignition of the vehicle and upon waking the man to check on him, the man had an odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. A road side test was conducted and the man failed. Subsequent tests conducted at the police station showed the man had twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system. The 42 year old Owen Sound man must now attend court in mid September to answer to a charge of Care or Control with over 80 mgs of alcohol. His vehicle, a grey 2015 sedan, was impounded for 7 days and his licence was suspended for 90 days.
