Owen Sound Man 3X Legal Limit Backs Into Police Curiser

At approximately 1:25 a.m. on Thursday (14January2016) morning an officer spotted a vehicle that a citizen had reported earlier in the evening concerned that the driver could possibly be impaired. After turning on the police vehicles emergency roof lights the officer went to exit his vehicle only to find the suspect vehicle reversing towards his cruiser. The driver of the 2000 Ford Expedition back directly into the cruiser then commence to pull away. The officer was able to get the driver to stopped before he left the scene.

The 38 year old driver was investigated and arrested at the scene for impaired operation. Samples of his breath were taken which resulted in the driver having almost 3 times the limit of alcohol in his blood then what a driver can legally have. The Owen Sound man was released from custody to appear in the Owen Sound Court on the 28th of January 2016 for the charges of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Blowing over 80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of blood. The driver as well has his vehicle impounded for 7 days and his driver’s licence is initially suspended for 90 days.

Fortunately no one was hurt and the vehicles only received minor damage.
