(WALKERTON, ON) – On January 9th, 2012 at 7:01 am, the South Bruce OPP received a report of an overnight vehicle entry, while the vehicle was parked at a residence along Miller Street in Walkerton. Sometime between 10:00 pm on January 8th, 2012 and 7:00 am on January 9th, 2012, a quantity of loose change was taken. The South Bruce OPP is offering some tips from the “Lock it or Lose it†Auto Theft Protection initiative:
Always roll up the windows, lock the doors and pocket the key
If you have a garage, use it. Lock the garage and the vehicle too
Never leave your car keys easily accessible or in plain view
Always park your vehicle in a well lit area
Never leave valuables in plain view. Put them in the trunk
