(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are investigating two overnight thefts from vehicles that have taken place in Exeter the last two nights. Early this morning around 2:40 a.m. two male suspects were observed running away from a Marlborough Street address. The victim had left his sedan unlocked and noticed his Ipod had been stolen. Police patrolled extensively for the suspects however were unable to locate them.
The suspects are in their twenties, close to 6′ in height, both were wearing black jackets with hoodies and both were described as having solid builds.
Also in Exeter an unlocked vehicle was entered on Andrew Street and an Ipod Shuffle and a set of binoculars were stolen. This theft took place sometime overnight on May 9, 2013.
These crimes of opportunity may have been prevented had the vehicle doors been locked. Generally as the weather warms up there is an increase in the number of thefts from vehicles. Criminals are out walking around looking for easy targets. Don’t make your vehicle an easy target by leaving the doors unlocked. Please do your part to prevent a crime.
