(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Collision Section is still investigating the fatal collision that occurred on Frank Kenny Rd in Navan on August 11, 2013.
Between 5:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., a 30-year-old man was struck on Frank Kenny Rd between Russell Rd and Colonial Rd. The vehicle involved did not remain at the scene of the collision. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have received tips and pieced together the victim’s actions leading up to the collision. Now the investigation is focused on the vehicle and the driver’s actions.
“There are several possibilities that we are still investigating, which include that the involved driver may be unaware that a person was struck,†said lead investigator Cst. Lianne McAughey.
The collision scene suggests that the vehicle involved may have sustained some damage.
“It’s important that we solve this case and bring closure to the victim’s family,†said Cst. McAughey.
Police are asking for anyone who was driving or has knowledge of anyone who was driving on Frank Kenny Road around the time of the collision is asked to call Det.
