(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service has noted an increase in thefts from vehicles in the Orleans area. During the month of August, there have been several reported thefts from vehicles in the area of Trim Road and Innes Road. All thefts, occurring in the evening and overnight hours, were from vehicles that were left unlocked.
The Ottawa Police Service is reminding residents to lock their car doors and remove all valuables from their vehicles.
All Ottawa residents are asked to immediately report this type of incident to police. We also invite people to contact their local Community Police Centre for crime prevention tips, including the “All Valuables Removed†theft prevention program for vehicles.
The location and contact information for each Community Police Centre can be found at ottawapolice.ca or through the police non-emergency phone number 613-236-1222.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents can contact the Ottawa Police Service at 613-236-1222, ext. 7300, or Crime Stoppers as 613-233-8477 or toll free at 1-800-22-8477.
