(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service has confirmed the identity of one of the people killed in today’s collision on the Transitway. He is David Woodard, 45 years old of Ottawa.
Mr. Woodard has been confirmed as the operator of the OC Transpo bus. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision this morning. The Ottawa Police is releasing his identity, with family permission. The family has asked that their privacy be respected at this time.
The OPS Victim Crisis Unit continues to work with the Office of the Coroner in the identification of victims and notification of next of kin.
Our thoughts are with the victims, the injured and their families, friends and loved ones.

The City of Ottawa and OPS Victim Crisis Unit team at the Nepean Sportsplex have advised that the reunification centre is now closed.
