Ottawa Police Officer Faces Drunk Driving Charge

(Ottawa)—As a result of an incident last evening, an off-duty Ottawa Police Service member has been charged with driving while impaired.

Cst Brodie Muldoon, 31 years old of Ottawa was charged with Operating a motor vehicle with over 80mg of alcohol/100ml of blood, per section 253(1) (b) of the Criminal Code, on March 20, 2015.

Cst Muldoon was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ottawa Court on April 8, 2015.

As a result, he has been assigned to administrative duties. The Ottawa Police Service Professional Standards Section has begun an investigation into this matter.

“This matter is before the courts and it is important that we respect due process,” said Ottawa Police Chief Charles Bordeleau. “The Ottawa Police Service expects the conduct of all officers to be of the highest standard and reflective of the values of our community.”
