(Ottawa)— On February 7, 2016, an Ottawa Police officer was arrested by the Gatineau Police Service following an off-duty incident that occurred in Gatineau.
As a result, Gatineau Police charged Cst. Nermin Mesic, 40 years old, with Assault, Uttering threats, and Forcible confinement.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Gatineau on March 30, 2016.
Today, Cst. Mesic was suspended from duty until further notice.
The Ottawa Police Service Professional Standards Section has begun an investigation into this matter and charges may be laid under the Police Services Act.
