(Ottawa) β The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section has charged an Ottawa man following an investigation into an allegation of Sexual Assault of a child.
On June 14th, 2016, the Ottawa Police Service responded to a 911 call at a residence in the Central area of Ottawa. At the scene, they discovered a child under the age of 10 had been sexually assaulted by an adult male inside the home.
Police arrested the male at the scene. An investigation was commenced by the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit.
Jacques PAQUETTE, 54 years old, of Ottawa was charged with one count of Sexual Assault and one count of Sexual Interference. He appeared in court on June 15, 2016.
The SACA investigation is ongoing and investigators are looking to speak with any witnesses. They are also concerned there could be other victims.
In recent years, PAQUETTE has also lived in the Casselman, Wendover, Hawkesbury and Curran areas.
