(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit is investigating an incident from July 20th, 2015 involving two vehicles on Walkley Road and St-Laurent Boulevard.
At 10:30pm, patrol officers attended the scene of two vehicles involved in a collision in the area of Walkley Road and St-Laurent Boulevard. Information was received that a firearm was involved.
Dewen SABIR, 20 year old of Ottawa, was charged with the following offences:
CC 267 (a) Assault with Weapon or Imitation Weapon
CC 85 (1) (a) Use Firearm/Commit Indictable Offence
CC 86 (1) Use /Handle/Store Firearm, etc, Carelessly
CC 87 (1) Point a Firearm
CC 88 (1) Possess Weapon, etc, /Dangerous to Public Peace
CC 91 (1) Possess Firearm other than Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a Licence
CC 92 (1) Possess Firearm other than Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a Licence
CC 94 (1) Occupy Motor vehicle with Firearm
CC 95 (1) Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
CC 96 (1) Possess Firearm, etc, Obtained by Crime
SABIR attended show cause yesterday afternoon
As a result of the investigation above, a separate incident involving a gun that occurred on July 18, 2015 was solved. Khalif SHAHAREEN (20 years of age) was arrested Tuesday July 21st 2015 by members of the DART team. SHAHAREEN is scheduled to appear in court today charged with the following offences:
CC 239(1) Attempted Murder
CC 85(1) Use Firearm in the Commission of an Offence
CC 86 (1) Use/Handle/Store Firearm, etc Carelessly
CC 87 (1) Point a Firearm
CC 88 (1) Possess Weapon, etc, /For Committing an Offence
CC 90 (1) Carry a Concealed Weapon
CC 91 (1) Possess Firearm other than Restricted or Prohibited Firearm without Holding a Licence
CC 92 (1) Possess Firearm other than Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly not Holding a Licence
CC 94 (1) Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm, etc.
CC 95 (1) Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
CC 96 (1) Possess Firearm, etc. Obtained by Crime
CC 264.1 (1) (a) Uttering Threats/Death or Bodily Harm
CC 334 (b) Theft Under
YCJA 137 Failure to Comply with YOA Disposition x 2
